Despite overbought technical conditions, the short-term outlook for Nifty favours the bulls, with key support at 20,777-20,521 levels and resistance at 21,121-21,331, said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research) at Mehta Equities.
On the stock-specific front, BPCL, Dixon Technologies, Wipro, Infosys, Canara Bank, Safari Industries and some other counters will be in focus today.
Shares of Wipro fell 0.39% to close at Rs 420.35 in the previous trading session. The IT firm has supported Marelli Electronic Systems in the development of its Cabin Digital Twin, that enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to introduce connected vehicle services to the market quickly.
Shares of Infosys shed 0.13% to close at Rs 1,488.60. The IT major said Nilanjan Roy has resigned as its finance chief and would be succeeded by insider Jayesh Sanghrajka.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) shares slipped 0.98% to close at Rs 465.90. The company will turn ex-dividend today. It has announced an interim dividend of Rs 21.
Shares of Dhyaani Tile and Marblez Ltd fell 2.31% to settle at Rs 95.85. The company will trade ex-bonus today in a 9:5 ratio.
Shares of Safari Industries (India) moved 3.02% lower to close at Rs 3,937.05. The company will turn ex-bonus in a 1:1 ratio.
Shares of SIS Ltd shed 1.81% to settle at Rs 475.20. The company has fixed today as record date for buy back of shares.
Shares of Sonata Software Ltd fell 0.46% up to close at Rs 1,409.50. The company will trade ex-bonus in a 1:1 ratio.
Shares of Bloom Industries dived 8.23% gains to settle at Rs 31.24. "The total borrowing (including interest) of the company is Rs 29,037 crore, repayable by 2037, against which only Rs 4,193 crore is overdue as on November 30, 2023.
Shares of Dixon Technologies (India) jumped 6.83% to close at Rs 6,372.15. The company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Padget Electronics Pvt Ltd, has been awarded manufacturing contract by Lenovo to carry out manufacturing of IT Hardware products.
Shares of Canara Bank rose 1.82% to close at Rs 446.45. The lender has raised Rs 1,403 crore Basel III Compliant Additional Tier 1 bonds.
